For the twenty-second time, they will be attending a social evening at the Heating and Energy Days 23. April in Olomouc to hand over the crystal chimneys for the heating projects of 2023. This year, three projects were shortlisted for nomination in each of the five categories.

The nominated projects contribute to the development and modernisation of efficient, economical and environmentally friendly heat supply systems, enabling the effective provision of thermal comfort for homes and the energy needs of services and industry. Currently, projects to ensure energy self-sufficiency by using domestic fuels and energy sources have also been nominated. The Achievement of the Year will also be announced.

Category Improving the efficiency of heat distribution:

C-Energy Planá: Completion of steam to hot water pipeline conversion in Tábor

Brno Heating Plants: Replacement of steam pipelines with more modern hot water pipelines in Brno is finishing

Veolia Energie ČR (Teplárna Olomouc): first stage of the transition of the steam branch to the hot water pipeline

Category Decarbonisation of heat sources:

ČEZ and Teplárna České Budějovice: Thermal feeder for Temelín Nuclear Power Plant – Teplárna České Budějovice

Plzeňská teplárenská: Increase of biomass co-firing on K6 boiler up to 100%

Otrokovice heating plant: conversion of coal boiler K4 to co-firing up to 50% biomass

Category Development of cogeneration and increasing the efficiency of heat supply systems:

Elektrárny Opatovice: Replacement of steam turbine TG3 to increase efficiency of combined production

Ostrovská teplárenská: Third CHP unit to stabilize heat price

Heat supply Vsetín (ENETIQA group): replacement of cogeneration unit after a quarter of a century of operation

In the past 21 years, a total of 237 heating projects were nominated, of which 77 projects were awarded the Crystal Chimney. 15 Achievements of the Year have already been announced. This year they will be joined by another.
